This is a place where you will meet women who regularly exercise to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle. We want to showcase what real women look like without any tricky lighting or photo retouching. There are no rules, no boundaries, no standards, and nothing to hide. Be inspired, as ‘healthy’ and ‘fit’ are not cast from a mould.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am passionate about women’s health and fitness, especially raising awareness about pelvic floor dysfunction for postnatal women - no matter how post-natal! This passion started when I was pushed to incontinence when attending the gym after my babies. I have used my first career as a teacher to create training programs for women, education programs for Fitness Professionals and even an event helping women to exercise safely! I live in Melbourne and have a busy house with 4 teenage children.
Favourite thing to do on the weekend?
It always starts with early morning yoga and finishes with a glass of wine in the company of my husband or a girl friend (or both).
How many times a week do you work out?
My goal is 5-6 times per week. I go to yoga and cardio tennis and have a regular weekly date with a friend for walking and when I can I absolutely love bush walks.
We know finding the time and energy to work out regularly can be tough. What keeps you motivated?
It is nonnegotiable. I don’t have a conversation with myself about whether I feel like it or not (this took a number of years) and so now it is part of my routine. With 4 children it can be easy to put yourself last on the list, however, regular exercise keeps me happy (number 1 for reducing stress) so it has taken awhile, but everyone in my family know this is my routine and accept it. I also prefer exercising in the mornings and structure the rest of my workday around it.
What do you love most about your svvet workout wear?
For sure I love that no one can see my knickers in downward dog!!! Also the top has an extra fitted bra and the fabric is super soft and comfortable.
What's your favourite way to treat yourself after your workout?
A good coffee for sure.
